Everyone has them, even if they say they don't, they secretly do. It is our way of saying that what was done the previous year was okay because we will just try and make it better in the new year. Whatever bad things we did, failures we had, and troubles we endured can all be washed away now because the new year is here and we shall start fresh. Right?
Just 8% of people successfully keep their new years resolutions. Are you part of that 8%? What resolutions will you make this year that you will not end up keeping? What resolutions do you really want to keep? A resolution is like a promise to yourself and keeping a promise to yourself is just as important, if not more important, as keeping one to your best friend, because in the end, its you who is with you then entire way. Remember that, that a resolution is a promise to yourself, so lets all try to keep ours this year!

Here are a few tips in making your new years resolution list that may help you get closer to achieving them:
Lets talk about the difference in your yearly GOALS and your RESOLUTIONS.
Your goals are and should be specific things that you can achieve through a timeline and steps. Your resolutions are firm decisions to take action and do something. So your goals should be the bullet points underneath your resolutions.
Example:
Resolution; Live a healthier and more fit lifestyle
Goals -lose 5 pounds in x amount of time
- go to them gym 5 days a week
- one cheat meal a month
*do you see the difference now in what I mean? The goals support the resolution you have decided to make.
That really wasn't a tip, just a clarification so you do not get overwhelmed with the joy and trouble of making new years goals and resolutions.

TIP #1: Do not promise yourself too many promises. When making your new years resolutions list, go ahead and write a few things down, like 5-6 things. Out of those five - 6 things, find 3- 4 or even less that are MOST important to you. If you are already busy and have trouble keeping your resolutions, it isn't going to get easier when trying to take on 10 of them at once.
When deciding which ones are more important, think about a few things, which ones will help me feel better about myself (if that is your problem)? Which ones can benefit me in the long haul? (you don't want to spend time on a resolution that will only benefit or make you happy for a couple of months) Which one's are truly achievable with the way my life is right now? (if are in college full time working on a degree without time to work HEAVILY, then becoming more rich probably isn't the best)
Here are my three I have officially chosen for 2019:
Get back into my healthy lifestyle that I slacked on in 2018.
Becoming more positive all around
Taking more action
TIP#2
Another thing that can help organize and keep you on track with your resolutions is now making your 2019 goals. Like I stated earlier, goals should be the bullet points to your resolution. They should help support the resolution. This way instead of looking at your resolution as a whole not being complete in about 3 months, you can check off little goals along the way and see progress which can motivate you to keep going instead of giving up.
Here are my goals categorized:
Get back into my healthy lifestyle that I slacked on in 2018
-Go to the gym 5 times a week
-Run 3 times a week
-one cheat meal a month
-lose 4 inches off waist (this will increase to 6 and 8 as I hit my goals)
Becoming more positive all around
-Cuss less
-Smile more
-Compliment more
-Think of the bright side more
Taking more action
- Upload a youtube video every saturday
- Post everyday on social media accounts
- gain 1000 subscribers on youtube
-Weekly blogpost
-No more procrastination
TIP#3
The last and final tip is NO MORE EXCUSES. Stop the excuse, the only person you are hurting by giving excuses is yourself. No excuse is really valid anymore because there are people who are in school and work full time crushing their goals. You have to show up and show out. You get what you put in and if you never put anything in, then there is no wonder you don't finish your resolutions. NO MORE EXCUSES!!! 2019 is about crushing goals and sticking with our promises! I am going to start a mini series either on here or my Youtube to help with sticking with goals and staying on track that will be a monthly thing! I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope you find peace and a little organization this new year when making those resolutions and goals because I know it can be a frustrating and overwhelming time! Go out, crush goals, and have fun!!!!
